Oh, and there's currently a remake right now, a spin-off currently in production for an all-female cast starring Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, and others. The 2001 remake was a success at the box office and with critics, and was the 5th highest-grossing film of 2001. So, what can we say about this masterpiece that hasn't already been said? Other than the fact that it was first released in 1960 and starred (among many others) Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and was REMADE in 2001 starring (again, among many others) George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Julie Roberts, Don Cheadle, Andy Garcia. It had an amazing set design and soundtrack. The direction was suave but subtle, whatever the fuck that means, and the plot was fast-paced and entertaining. The characters and the cast were beyond superb.
